Pamukkale, meaning "cotton castle" in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli Province in southwestern Turkey.
Perga or Perge was originally an ancient Lycian settlement that later became a Greek city in Pamphylia. It was the capital of the Roman province of Pamphylia Secunda, now located in Antalya Province on the southwestern Mediterranean coast of Turkey.
This clean river, which provides rafting opportunities to 7,000 people daily during the summer months, also has water that can be safely drunk from its source. The natural beauty of the surroundings plays an important role in making it an excellent recreation area. For this reason, the canyon is also a popular tourist destination.
